I had the same problem but I solved it

Just increase the items weight in the cart by whatever is necessary to make up the shipping cost difference. What I did was increase the weight by a pound on one of my items so the cart calculates slightly more for the shipping. I then ship UPS even though the only choice I offer is USPS.
